A. End Social Squabbles: A 3-Part Social Problem-Solving PD for Parents
End Social Squabbles offers professional development (PD) for parents using the Story Emotion Social Therapy (SEST) methodology.
Rather than assuming what children will say or immediately telling them what to do, SEST WholeStory teaches parents to use a mutual storytelling approach to listen, connect, and problem-solve. This bottom-up method helps children communicate what is on their minds and learn from their experiences. Parents will gain tools to guide children in discussing their perspectives on social situations, fostering deeper thinking, and making constructive choices in real-life interactions.
B. I Think I Heard You Say: A 1 Session PD for Parents Using SEST Self-Supporting Strategies
In our fast-paced, distracting world, empathetic connections with children, especially those with social communication needs, are often challenging.
This training introduces the SEST ME-First principle, teaching parents how to connect empathetically with themselves before connecting with their children. Parents will learn to recognize when they are on autopilot, use two tools for listening to both content and feelings (even without words), and create mindful, concise messages using SEST’s Core Message, focusing on essential phrases for effective communication.
Tired of constant recess and lunchroom conflicts disrupting your day? Wonder what drives children to act out instead of communicating effectively?
End Recess & Lunchroom Social Squabbles offers social problem-solving using the Story Emotion Social Therapy (SEST) methodology for lower and middle-elementary students. In this training, teachers and staff will learn to help children share perspectives on social situations and use SEST to guide them toward deeper thinking and better decision-making in real-life interactions.
